We will assist you to migrate a website and/or emails from your current platform to Hosted.com. Please review the following information to understand our migration process.

Before You Migrate A Website
- We will migrate your data to Hosted.com first, and only point and transfer domain once the migration is complete. This ensures your website, and emails remain accessible during the process, which may take a few days.
- The migration includes your website files, databases, and all current emails. Note that cron jobs, DNS records, custom SSL configurations, and FTP accounts will not be migrated.
Step 1 – What You Will
You qualify for a free data website migration if:
- You are currently hosted with a provider other than Hosted.com.
- Your website is built with an open-source CMS such as WordPress.org, Joomla, etc.
Please Note:
- Websites built with custom platforms like Blogger, Canva, Google Sites, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, and others cannot be migrated. In such cases, consider re-creating your website using the Hosted.com Website Builder.
- Emails hosted with services like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace (G-Suite), Telkom, and Mimecast are not eligible for migration.
- Ensure there is adequate disk space available for the move, usually double the amount of hosted data to accommodate the migrated zip files and extracted data.
During the migration process, it is recommended to:
- Disable anti-bot verification and two-factor authentication on your current hosting account and website admin page.
- Verify that your current hosting has enough free disk space to generate backups during the data migration.
Step 2 – Preparing for Website Migration
After confirming that your website meets the necessary requirements, ensure you have an active hosting plan with Hosted.com. If you don’t have one, sign up for a new plan with at least one additional domain. You can also contact our support team for assistance in activating a package or bulk domain transfers. With an active package, you can proceed to request a website migration.
Step 3 – Initiating the Migration
To access the migration form, you can:
- Go to the Web Hosting section and click “Add Website”.
- If you have multiple hosting plans, select the one for the website you want to migrate. A hosting plan selection screen will appear.
- Alternatively, click the profile icon, select “Migrate Website”, and then click “Add Request”.
Step 4 – Completing the Request
To finalize the migration request:
- Enter the domain or subdomain name of the website you want to move.
- For WordPress-based websites, the platform will be detected automatically, you can also opt for WordPress Hosting from Hosted.com. If not, you can manually select the platform and choose from one of our cPanel Web Hosting plans.
- After submission, you can quickly check the status of your migration request.
Step 5 – Pointing to Hosted.com
You will receive an email notification once the migration is complete. Verify everything is in order using the IP address of your hosting plan and the DNS tool. To minimize disruptions, make sure to point your domain to Hosted.com servers after the migration is successfully completed.
