- Open Outlook 2010 or launch the Outlook 2010 application on your computer.
- Access the “Account Settings”
- Click on the “File” tab located in the top-left corner of the Outlook window.
- From the drop-down menu, select “Info” and then click on “Account Settings”.
- Click “Add Account” in the Account Settings window.
- Navigate to the “Email” tab and click on the “New” button.
- Complete “Your Name” as you would like it to appear in your emails.
- Then type in the “E-mail Address” you want to configure.
- Enter your “Password” and re-enter to confirm in the “Re-type Password” text field.
- Click “Manually configure server settings or additional server types”.
- Then click “Next”.
- Ensure that “Internet E-mail” option is selected, then click “Next” again.
- Next, we have to configure our Server Settings.
- Ensure POP3 is showing as “Account Type”.
- Enter the “Incoming mail server” details and the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP)” address.
- Under Logon Information, enter your full email address as the “User Name” and your “Password”.
- Click the “More Settings” button on the right.
- Select the “Outgoing Server” tab.
- Tick the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” box.
- Select the “Advanced” tab.
- Change your Server Port if required, otherwise just click “OK”. If you are experiencing difficulties on Port 25, you can change it to Port 587.
- Click “Next” in the next window
- You have successfully configured your POP email account in Outlook 2010. You can now start sending and receiving emails using your Outlook application.
