The ‘How to configure a site in FlashFXP’ tutorial assumes you have FlashFXP installed on your computer but have not yet connected to a remote server.

Configure A Site In FlashFXP
1. Launch FlashFXP on your computer.
2. Click on “Sites” in the Menu bar.
3. Select “Site Manager.” Here, you can create a dedicated group to organize logins for your websites. This is particularly useful for keeping work and personal websites separate.
4. Click the “New Group” button.
5. Enter the name you want in the “Enter Group Name” box.
6. Ensure the new group (in our example, “demosites”) is selected.
7. Click the “New Site” button.
8. Enter a name for the site (for your reference) in the “Create New Site” window.
9. Under the “General” tab, select the appropriate “Connection Type.”
10. Enter the server’s “Address”, which can be in the form of ftp.yourdomain.com, yourdomain.com, or just the IP (Internet Protocol) address.
11. Complete the “User Name” and “Password” for your hosting account.
12. Optionally, you can specify the “Remote Path” server address if you want to connect directly to a specific folder on the remote server.
13. Specify the “Local Path” if needed.
14. Once you have filled in the necessary details, click “Apply,” and then click “Close.”
Those are the steps for configuring your website in FlashFXP.
Connect to A Site In FlashFXP
1. To connect to your website, click on the icon resembling two computers.
2. In the “Site” panel, select the group (e.g., “demosites”) you created.
3. Choose the site you configured (in our example, “mybiz123.info”).
Successful Connection, that’s it! You have successfully connected to your website via FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
Disconnect from A Site In FlashFXP
1. To disconnect from the site, simply click the icon resembling the double computer with a X.
2. Or select “Server” and “Disconnect” from the drop down menu It will display a “Not Connected” notification bar.

FlashFXP Features
FlashFXP is a Windows-based File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client software, that allows you to publish and manage your website files, much like CuteFTP and FileZilla.
It’s especially useful for beginners because it has a simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) layout like Windows Explorer. With FlashFXP, you can transfer files by dragging and dropping them, upload, download, and share them with others in your network.
You can compare the contents of two different folders and set up scheduled file transfers while keeping them secure with SSL/TSL encryption.
FlashFXP allows you to directly edit files on your server and have them updated as soon as you save your changes. The software also allows for working on several files and folders simultaneously.
You can search for files on the server by right-clicking them then change file attributes, view, edit, move, delete, and queue. You can also create a skip list, meaning you can skip certain files when transferring in bulk. You can calculate the size of all your files to see how much space they are taking up.
It also offers customizable commands, prioritizes your most important transfers, and lets you choose your preferred programs for viewing and editing files.
