Website Builder has been provisioned to ensure that you can maximize your website’s SEO:
META INFORMATION: The meta tags appear at the top of your website page in the HTML code, and are vitally important
- Go to “Settings” and select “Pages”
- Click on the “SEO” tab and specify the following
- “Title” – is the browser’s tab name for every page – and each page’s title must be a unique not more than 50-60 characters
- “Description” – is a brief mini paragraph about the page’s content not more than 150-160 characters
- “Keywords” are still used by some search engines, however Google doesn’t use them. However, adding them is a good way to keep track on the SEO for that page. Ensure that the keywords are separated by a comma
- “User-friendly URL” – the default value is the page name specified in the navigation, use it if you would prefer a custom URL path.
CUSTOM META TAGS:
- Go to “Settings” and select the “Meta information” tab
- Add the Custom meta tags that you want and click “Apply”.
PAGES: This will make your URL user-friendly:
- Under “Settings”
- Select “Pages” and select the “SEO” tab
- Add the page name in “User friendly URL”, separate the page name words with a hyphen and not a space – you can customize every page name apart from the Home Page.
TRACKING TOOLS:
Facebook Pixel – two options to add a Facebook pixel:
1. Using Analytics tab
- Go to “Settings”, select “Analytics”
- Paste the Facebook Pixel Tracking ID
- Click “Apply”
2. Using the Pages tab
- Go to “Settings”, select “Pages”
- Chose “Scripts” tab
- Paste the Facebook Pixel code in the “Before </head>” field
- Click “Apply”
Google Analytics
- “Settings”, select “Analytics”
- Insert Google Analytics Tracking ID
- Click “Apply”
Yandex Metrika
- “Settings”, select “Analytics”
- Insert Yandex Metrika Tracking ID
- Click “Apply”
Google Tag Manager
- Go to “Settings”, select “Pages”
- Chose “Scripts” tab
- Paste the Google Tag Manager code in the “Before </head>” field
- Click “Apply”

Optimizing your website content for SEO
1. Use H1 Header and H2 & H3 for subtitles
- H1 Header is used for the page title and is important for search engines to track
- Each page can have only one H1 Header
- Try and use keywords or phrases in heading, but don’t overdo it.
- Select “Text” and on the top toolbar choose “Edit Text”
- Choose the heading type and complete
- Use H2 and H3 tags is for subsections within the content
2. Use Alternative Text for images
- Ensure that the image file name is correct and represents the image
- Remove all spaces between file name words and substitute with either a hyphen or an underscore
- Add image to your website page
- On right side toolbar complete the appropriate “Alternative Text”
3. Add Element names
- Add the Element that you want
- Scroll down to “Advanced” in right toolbar and add the “Anchor Name”.
4. Add Links
- Highlight text and press icon in main toolbar
- In “Link properties” choose type of link
- Click “Apply”.
5. Multilingual content
- After adding multiple languages to your website
- You can change the “Alternative Text” for images into each language
- And do the same with any Link properties, etc.
ROBOTS.TXT:
- Select the “Settings” icon and then select “Settings” from the drop down
- Click on the “robots.txt” tab
- Press enable robots.txt
- Insert the script and click “Apply”
- NOTE: This requires an understanding of coding, so please ask your developer for assistance.
.HTACCESS: Hyper text Access is a configuration file on the server and should be used with utmost care.
- Select the “Settings” icon and then select “Settings” from the drop down
- Click on the “Custom .htaccess” tab
- Press “Enable .htaccess”
- Insert the script and click “Apply”
- NOTE: Please ask your developer for assistance prior to editing this file.
SITEMAP: Website Builder will automatically generate your Sitemap once you have published your website.
- To find the link to your Sitemap
- Select the “Settings” icon and choose “Settings” from the drop down
- Click the “Analytics” tab
- The link is in the last text block under “Sitemap URL”
HTML:
- Select the “Settings” icon and choose “Settings” from the drop down
- Click the “Meta information” tab
- Add your Custom Meta Tags
- Click “Apply”
- For custom coding, ensure that your HTML code is neat, and optimized to the best of your ability
