This article covers the steps to delete a blog subscriber from your WordPress blog, and assumes that you have logged into your Hosted.com account and have accessed WordPress via the cPanel control panel.

Steps to Delete a Blog Subscriber
- Login to your WordPress dashboard.
- In the menu on the left navigate to “Users” and click “Subscribers”.
- Find the Subscriber’s name or email address.
- On the right-hand side of their name, click on the 3 vertical dots. This will drop down and display the “Remove” option.
- Click “Remove” to delete the Subscriber.
Once deleted, these Subscribers will no longer receive new post notifications from your WordPress site.
Note: This only applies if your blog is Private. You cannot remove a Subscriber from a Public Blog as these blogs don’t have Subscribers. Public Blogs use other methods to interact with users, e.g. moderating comments and blacklisting.
If you have the Newsletter option for your blog enabled, ensure it is deactivated before deleting Subscribers. This will prevent them from receiving notifications after you have removed them.
In keeping with Privacy Policy best practices, once you have deleted a Subscriber, you should no longer be able to access the personal information they have shared with you.
Additional Information
Managing WordPress Blog Subscribers
You can find the list of your blog’s Subscribers and their information in the “Users” section of your WordPress dashboard as explained above. This section’s built-in features allow you to manage and interact with them in various ways:
Viewing & Adding
You will be able to see what type of Subscription they have for your blog, for example, free or paid, and when they signed up. The list can be viewed in alphabetical order or most recent, and you can download it in .CSV format if you wish.
You can search for specific Subscribers by entering their username, name, or email address or add new ones by clicking the “Add Subscribers” button and entering their email addresses in the boxes provided.
Email & Post Updates
WordPress offers an option to send email updates on new posts to your Subscriber list as soon as you have published something. Remember: this will only apply to brand-new blog content, not existing posts that have been updated or custom post types and pages.
Alternatively, you can adjust your WordPress Writing settings to send posts directly to Subscribers using the “Post via Email” option.
Similarly, you can use the “Posts” section to create content and notify Subscribers about new posts or updates.
RSS Feeds
WordPress automatically generates RSS feeds for your content. Subscribers can view these with a feed reader to keep informed of your latest blog posts.
Subscribe Button
WordPress gives you the option to add a “Subscribe Button” widget for users to submit their contact details. When you publish a new post, the widget will automatically notify Subscribers that the post is live on your page.
Comments
When you use WordPress’s Comments system, you can interact with Subscribers by replying to comments on your posts and answering questions.
Additionally, you can configure your default posts to allow anyone to comment, manually approve comments before they appear, or disable them entirely. These settings can be found in the “Discussion Settings” menu in your dashboard.
