Although the certificate comes included with your WordPress hosting plan, it must be activated for your domain. Without activation, your website will continue to load over HTTP, leaving data unencrypted and potentially showing “Not Secure” warnings in browsers. How to View Your SSL Certificates
1. Login to Your Hosted.com® Account
2. Go to the Manage Services drop-down section and click SSL Certificates.
How to Install SSL Certificate
1. Your Free SSL Certificate will automatically be installed. If you require another, click Add SSL Certificate.
2. Choose your plan, and the system will automatically generate and install the SSL certificate for your domain.
3. Once installed, your site will be accessible via https:// and the green padlock icon will appear in the browser.
Additional Information
- Mixed Content: After activating SSL, ensure all website resources (images, scripts, CSS) are loaded over HTTPS to avoid mixed content warnings.
- Multiple Domains: If your hosting plan includes add-on domains or subdomains, you may need to activate SSL for each one individually.
- Browser Cache: When the padlock does not appear immediately, clear your browser cache or check this from a different browser.
