This approach simplifies certificate management, reduces costs, and ensures consistent encryption across all your websites. Whether you are running multiple brands, campaigns, or regional domains, using one type of SSL for multiple domains can streamline your web hosting and improve overall security management.
Managing multiple websites can quickly become complex, especially when each domain requires its own SSL certificate for security. Fortunately, there is a more efficient solution. A Multi-Domain SSL certificate, also known as a SAN (Subject Alternative Name) certificate, allows you to secure multiple domains with a single SSL certificate.

Additional Information
- A Multi-Domain SSL certificate allows you to secure multiple unique domain names and sometimes subdomains under a single certificate.
- This type of SSL reduces the need to manage multiple renewals, saving time and administrative effort.
- You still benefit from strong encryption, up to 256-bit, just like standard SSL certificates.
- Each domain included in the certificate must pass validation before the SSL is issued.
- Most Multi-Domain SSL certificates support many domains, often between 100 and 250.
- Using a single certificate can simplify server configuration and reduce the risk of misconfigured SSL settings.
- Hosted.com® support can assist with CSR generation, installation, and troubleshooting if required.*
*Assistance is available only for websites hosted on our shared hosting solutions. We do not provide installation support for external or self-managed servers.
