The Hosted.com® Website Builder provides a powerful and user-friendly way to recreate, modernize, or importing a website without advanced technical skills or manual rebuilding from scratch.

Instead of copying and pasting content page by page, the Import feature intelligently scans your current website, and takes its core structure, written content, and imagery across into a fully editable environment within Website Builder.

This means you can take an outdated design or even your own live website and transform it into something more visually appealing, mobile-friendly, and aligned with your brand, all while saving significant time and effort.

Important Notes Before You Import

  • The import feature supports up to 20 pages per website.
  • Imported websites may not look identical to the original due to:
    • Third-party plugins.
    • Custom scripts.
    • External integrations.
  • Some functionality may need to be recreated manually.
  • Always review your website carefully before publishing.

Editing & Customizing Your Imported Website

Once your site is imported, you can fully personalize it to match your brand:

  • Update Text: Adjust headings, paragraphs, and calls-to-action.
  • Change Colors: Align your design with your brand identity.
  • Replace Images: Upload your own visuals or optimize existing ones.
  • Rearrange Layouts: Move, remove, or add sections as necessary.
  • Add Branding: Include your logo, brand name, and styling elements.
  • Refine Navigation: Improve menus and page structure.

When you are satisfied with your updates, click Publish to take your website live.

Additional Information

  • The Import feature in Website Builder is designed to significantly reduce the time and complexity involved in rebuilding a website by automatically extracting and recreating visible elements from the source site.
  • Also, while the system does an excellent job of replicating layouts and styling as closely as possible, differences in themes, rendering engines, and design frameworks can result in slight variations in spacing, font styling, responsiveness, or overall visual presentation. This is why it is strongly recommended that you carefully review each imported page across desktop and mobile views before taking your site live.
  • It is also worth noting that the import process is limited to maximum of 20 pages per session, meaning that larger websites may need to be prioritized, simplified, or imported in stages, depending on how your content is structured and which pages are most critical to your audience or business objectives.
  • Ultimately, the Import feature should be viewed as a powerful starting point that accelerates your workflow and preserves your existing content, while still allowing you flexibility to refine, enhance, and optimize your website using the full range of design and editing tools available within Website Builder.
