In this tutorial, you will learn how to install Dotclear from Softaculous using the cPanel dashboard, available to users on one of Hosted.com’s cPanel Web Hosting plans.
Dotclear is a well-known open-source blogging platform, offered through Softaculous as a tool to make installation easier. If you wish to start a blog or website using Dotclear, this method will simplify and speed up the installation process. It is especially recommended for those not familiar with manual installation procedures.

Install Dotclear From Softaculous
This tutorial assumes you have cPanel and are logged in, and that you already have Softaculous open.
1. Click on the “Blogs” dropdown menu and select “Dotclear”.
You will be taken to the Overview page to view more information about this software.
For Quick Install
2. Click “Quick Install” from the “Install” tab. The next two boxes require your selected Domain and the Directory. The Directory is relative to your Domain and should not exist. e.g. To install at http://mydomain/dir/, type “dir”. To install only in http://mydomain/, leave this empty.
3. Fill in your Admin Account details below this, then click “Install” to finalize the process.
For Custom Install
2. The Custom Install process is similar: Select the option from the “Install” tab. Under “Software Setup”, choose your Protocol, Domain, and Directory, which should be empty.
Note: The Directory is relative to your Domain and should not exist. e.g. To install at http://mydomain/dir/, type “dir”. To install only in http://mydomain/, leave this empty.
If you have multiple Domains associated with this account, you can select where to install it.
3. Under “Site Settings”, fill in your Site Name, which may be set to default. You can change this later from the application’s Admin Panel.
4. Finally, select your language and fill in your Admin Account details. Then click “Install” to finalize the process.
Note: Under Advanced Options, you can choose a new Database Name for a Database to be created for the installation and enter a Table Prefix, if necessary.
After Quick & Custom Installations
5. After clicking “Install” in either process, the software will be installed, and you can view your new site by clicking the Installation link.
