When you register a domain name, it may take up to 24 hours for it to become active.

Hosting, on the other hand, can be immediate upon activation (after payment) or when your website is ready to go live on the world wide web.

Additional Information:

Register a Domain Name

Customers who register a domain name, free* with selected hosting packages on Hosted.com, will find that the domain name registration is instant once the payment has been received, however, the hosting implementation may take up to 24 hours to become active.

After domain availability has been confirmed and your domain name has been registered, you will receive an email with the relevant details and information.

Domain Name Renewal

Once your domain name has been registered, you own the domain for one year and then it will renew, please ensure that this is done timeously, because as soon as it expires it will become publicly available.

Please note that you do have the choice to register your domain for up to 10 years (from 2 years and up, its your choice).

If a domain is set to Auto Renew the system will automatically renew it on the due date if there is a valid credit card on the account. The Auto Renew will debit the card for the initial registration period, whatever it is from 1 year to 10 years. Should you not wish to have Auto Renew, please disable it through your Hosted.com Control Panel under Domain Management.

Web Hosting

If your website is not yet ready for publishing, consider opting for an Email Hosting plan instead of a full cPanel Web Hosting until it is ready.

All Hosted.com customers will receive FREE Domain Name Parking, which you are welcome to make use of until your website is ready to launch, even if you register a domain name independently of hosting.

Domain or Hosting Queries

Should you have any queries regarding your domain name registration or hosting, please Open a Ticket with our support team, who will respond as soon as possible.

NOTE: You may only transfer a newly registered domain 60 days after initial registration.
