Additional Information
POP vs IMAP
POP downloads emails to a single device, which means that if you want to access your emails from multiple devices, IMAP may be a better choice as it synchronizes emails across all devices. With IMAP, any changes made (like deleting emails) will reflect on all devices.
Incoming/Outgoing Server Settings
Ensure you have the correct server information provided by your email host, as incorrect settings can prevent your account from functioning properly.
SSL Encryption
If your email provider supports SSL encryption, enable it in the settings for secure communication. This adds an extra layer of security when you send and receive emails.
Port Numbers
Typically, POP connects over port 110 for non-SSL connections and port 995 for SSL connections. Ensure you enter these ports correctly based on whether you use SSL.
Why Use POP?
If you primarily access your emails from one device and don’t need synchronization across multiple devices, we recommend you use POP. It downloads every email locally, saving server storage space and allowing offline access to messages.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you experience issues during setup, double-check that your email address and password are correct. Ensure your internet connection is stable and re-enter your details if necessary. If problems persist, consult your email provider’s support resources for assistance.
