Additional Information

  • Domain registration: Ensure the new domain is registered and its nameservers are pointing to your Hosted.com® hosting account before adding it.
  • Email accounts: You can create email addresses for the new domain in the Email Accountssection of cPanel after the domain has been added.
  • Independent sites, shared resources: Each additional domain functions as a separate website, but all sites under the same hosting plan share the same disk space, bandwidth, and other resources.
  • SSL certificate: Protect your new website with an SSL certificate. You can use AutoSSLin cPanel or manually install one through the SSL/TLS section.
  • Subdomain creation: During the setup process, cPanel automatically creates a subdomain for internal use. Visitors will still access the site using the full domain name you entered.
  • Database creation: If your website requires a database (such as WordPress), create one using the MySQL® Databases tool in cPanel.
  • Website builder: If you prefer a no-code option, use Hosted.com®’s drag-and-drop Website Builder to create your new website.
  • Redirect setup: You can set up a redirect for the new domain to another website using the Redirects tool under Domains in cPanel.
  • File organization: Store each website in its own subdirectory (for example, public_html/site2) to keep your files organized.
  • CMS installation: Use the Softaculous Apps Installer in cPanel to install popular platforms like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal in just a few clicks.
  • Propagation time: After adding the domain and pointing its nameservers, it can take up to 24 hours for DNS changes to propagate worldwide.
